Eph. 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we
would walk in them.
Truth of God
Remember, the truth of God is granted by God alone, not found by men through their own efforts. So when men lack the true knowledge of God, they create their own, distorted version to suit themselves.
